What size maternity bra should I buy?

Most women buy maternity nursing bras during their second trimester. You will most likely need to buy a bra that is one band size larger and 1-3 cup sizes larger than your "regular" bras.

Does wearing the wrong bra decrease milk supply?

Yes! Wearing a poorly fitting bra or the wrong size bra; that constricts your breasts or that is too tight around the rib band or cup can cause issues with milk flow and supply.  Wearing the wrong size of bra can even lead to constricted or plugged milk ducts.

When should you buy maternity nursing bras?

Your full, tender breasts can be one of the first signs that you are pregnant. 🤰 Congratulations! You may start to outgrow your usual bra between about eight weeks and 10 weeks of pregnancy. This is the ideal time to invest in a well-designed maternity & nursing bra that will keep you comfortable and well-supported in the coming months. We recommend all of your bras have breastfeeding access.  Many of our bras do not appear nursing; but in fact have subtle  hidden access.

Can you wear underwire bras while pregnant and breastfeeding?

Yes. Wearing an underwire bra while you're pregnant shouldn't cause a health problem for you or your baby. The concern about underwire is also if the engineering and proper fit is not followed; that the wire could inhibit blood flow and hamper milk production, which begins well before your baby arrives.  The bottom line: If your underwire bra is uncomfortable, don't wear it.  Get a professional fitter review at your local lingerie boutique or we offer our video fitting services as well.  Reach out today.

I just found out I am pregnant! Can you give me some thoughtful and sustainable maternity wardrobe planning advice?

Yes! We have nearly 20 years of experience helping new moms find what they need. A couple of tips off the top:

You are entering a lifelong journey: motherhood.  We are outfitters to help you have a successful start as a pregnant or breastfeeding woman. Here are some key words we remember when helping you get outfitted:

Look for Adaptable items:

Your body will be changing for the next 1-2 years, get items that will adapt to your changing needs such as:

BREAST ACCESS = a top or dress or support garment which allows safe and easy breastfeeding access. You won't need it until you have the baby, but you will be glad to save yourself this way.

BUMP FLEX = any item that will fit with your bump before and after the baby comes!  Pants tend to be the hardest to work when you don't have the bump. That is why Dresses tend to be so popular during this expecting and breastfeeding time of life.

Garments that have built in thoughtful design; like our Flexi-Fit (r)  double extender on every bra. Subtle nursing clips that match and lay flat, garments with gathering so as your breast increases, there is adequate coverage. Long lasting materials, because everything will get dirtier quicker!

I am 25 weeks and my bra doesn't fit anymore. What's the plan?

In our design studio & boutique we first meet our new expecting customers who are around 20 weeks pregnant.  Most of them say: "The cheap bras don't support and the old bras don't fit.  Relief via support is in high demand!" 😃

We say:

"You need a bra that fits now, but with room to grow & has breastfeeding access.  Please don't waste $ or 🌍  🌎 on bras that don't have breastfeeding access- you will wear this bra again when baby is about 6 months old! "

Get our 3 best selling items:

Pretty Sexy T-Shirt Bra: this is a foam cup T-Shirt bra. "This is like my bra before pregnancy" is what we hear all the time. Then we also hear; ok; I am done nursing - can I get this bra in my new size?!

You will wear the pregnancy bras again when nursing and your expecting superhero body or this super hero mom one is shrinking back.
